Island Peak, Nepal

Gary’s recent trip to Island Peak in Nepal was a great success!

Gary managed to reach 18,000 feet in this amazing trek.

Gary had two weeks in this spectacular country before returning safely to the UK. This included getting to basecamp from the airport and acclimatising to the high altitude.

There was bad weather in the area during Gary’s expedition so Gary and his mountain guide David kept an eye on the isobars and precipitation so they were safe at all times.

Gary said: “It was a marvellous achievement, a fantastic experience and a huge amount of knowledge was gained ready for the Grand Slam.”
